He Says

Put down the sword
That's not what life is for
Put down the sword
That's not why you were born

          He says
              take it slow
          She says
              don't go

Put down the crown
  Lay your anger down
Put down the crown
It's too heavy for your brow

          He says
               take it slow
          She says
               I know

Take up the staff
    the kid and calf
The lamb, the leopard
    they need a shepherd

Five little stones
    you stand up alone
The fear it fades
    it's already un-made

          She says
                 take it slow
          He says
                 don't go
          She says
                 take it slow
          He says
                 I know

Honesty, I thee wed

Oh my deer; oh deer, dear me
Life goes on perplexingly
Love's arm reaches through the fog
"look, my dear, a little frog"
Give it back, the precious prize
I will see with unveiled eyes
I am no ones slave or master
I'm a light and shadow caster
All my life, to keep me free
I thee wed, my HONESTY

And life goes on, from friend to friend
There is loving without end
End your resistance to life's flow
Sometimes you're high, at times you're low
Sometimes insulted, others praised
Let circumstances leave you amazed

Where shall we plant our life's seed?
When it grows, do we kill all the weeds?
Can you uproot, replant and grow;
When it's time to move, can you let things go?
So I will have no truer love
Than this: my own life, me, my dove
And I set sail in all life's seas
Cause with MY SELF I am well pleased

Love,
Psyche

Bus stops

Souls are soup and we mix them up
We mingle flavors and drink our cups
And it is good
In this or any neighborhood.

Av

A day well spent
and no need to repent
of this fun
a new life has begun
Born two days
before the great fire blaze*
razed to the ground
and the temple came down
Redemption has sparked
on the day most dark
all lights went cold
Now before I get old
I'll light the real lamp
to lead this camp
in their journey on
toward the dawn
Homeward
home is here
No fear
On we go!

(7.30.12)

*I was born on the 7th of Av, two days before the day of destruction in Jewish tradition. Just before the fall of the stone temple - the old paradigm of petrified thought forms - a little spark flickers into consciousness, ready to skip, trip, flip on, mobile and merry, versatile as a tent in the desert. Rooted in love and the acceptance of self. On the road..

Generation

I keep trying to be reborn
I'm torn
Love creeps in
where there was a kind of sin
This missing the mark
This shot in the dark is for you
And your beautiful face
I can't replace
The doors of men
Hold little light to draw me in
Shelter from cold
A hand to hold
I am afraid
The plans that I made have shattered
Like none of it mattered at all
Who is the fool?
When I realize the jewel
Is only a heart beat away
I open my eyes, the moon tries to stay
I play
A chord on the harp of my heart
I wait for an answer from deep in the dark
Of my unknown future
Scab and suture are healing
Slowly peeling
Some marks don't go away
Then they aren't marks at all, I say
No, they are the paper
They are the ground
And if I am a cosmic sound
Then you are my holy dove
My love
And everyone writes a song about you
So I will too
I hope you will know some day
These words are meant to waft your way
And come home singing to my tree
A little bee
Two, maybe three
I, maybe thee
Us, maybe We
Someday

Red Bud

Change the song of my life
I've been singing strife
Let grace reign over me
Set me free
Open my heart
Take out this dart
That cuts to the very core of me
No more
Through the door
I am me, I am free

Utter, ultimate freedom dawns
Prison quakes, break these bonds
My heart leaps, feet like sheep
Dance those shackles free
Dance, just for me
Dance yourself clean
Your dance is the scene
You sow in your life
With seeds of hope
In mud of strife

Open eyes, look and see
This new thing
Born in me
Freedom rings
Mercy sings
The mercy and freedom of perfect acceptance of self and this creative flow.
Surrender, let's go.

To Life!

Sympathy

Is there truly no comfort in life?
What about the comfort of truth?
Longing is a constant companion
The longing for heaven that I carry
It's heavy
Who are You, and what does it mean to be a human?
This flower shows her face now and then
But the blooming takes a lifetime
It never really fades
In fact, it's more potent with age
You get stripped, whipped till you release
The need to be unhappy
But life's circumstances have no patience
Sometimes the lights go out
They just go out and you can't even shout
Because no ones here to hear
Except you and me my dear
The other within
Under a thin cloud of skin
Rip and mingle your inner oceans
Make more beautiful potions
Make something out of nothing
Be the spark in the dark

Tyger Tyger

Tyger Tyger
where you roam
slake your senses far from home

In some distant galaxy
hide your sins away from me

Now I see your flashing eye
now you cry, now you cry

Tyger Tyger
burn it down
take this most unsuited crown

Cast it from your hungry head
melt the gold back down to lead

Tyger Tyger
on the ground
cry no more; I hate the sound

I'll ask you not to cease to blaze
simply to find better ways
To channel star-fire into form
Tyger Tyger
be re-born

I'm on a Boat...

I think my mothership has left me here
   because he has full confidence
in my ability to be a lighthouse.

The spark is in me too
but what, oh what does it do?

general weirdness abounds and the world is as it should be

Pull me through
   I'll come out true
I float like glue
   on rubber clouds
I stick my shoe
   into your mouth
Don't give me your shit
   I can't handle it
I have my own
   painful throne

But I am sewing cushions for it.

I look forward
   to the unknown
Somewhere there's a light that is shown

And people are the answer
   to this and every cancer
Together we live
cut from the tree we're in misery
I'm a branch of Humanity
I believe in me.  And simplicity.
